peels

Chemical peels aren’t as

scary as the sound —

When used with precision and care, chemical peels are far less intimidating than they might seem. These advanced treatments harness the power of carefully selected acids to delicately exfoliate the skin, encouraging cellular turnover and unveiling a smoother, more luminous complexion. Whether you're seeking to refine texture, fine lines and wrinkles, diminish the appearance of scars or pigmentation, even out skin tone, our peels in the Studio deliver transformative results while maintaining the integrity and health of your skin.

 common questions

  • Chemical peels can benefit a wide range of skin types and concerns, including acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, and texture issues.

The best candidates are those with healthy, intact skin barriers who are committed to proper pre- and post-care. However, if you have certain skin conditions (like active rosacea, eczema, or severe sensitivity), are pregnant, nursing, or are using specific medications (such as Accutane), a peel may not be the best option at this time.

A consultation is always recommended to determine the safest and most effective treatment for your skin.

  • Downtime varies depending on the type and strength of the peel used. Most of the peels offered have minimal to moderate downtime, meaning you may experience light to moderate flaking, dryness, or mild redness for a few days. Some peels result in little to no visible peeling, but still work beneath the surface to improve skin texture and tone.

I’ll always provide post-care guidance based on the peel used to ensure the best results while keeping your skin comfortable during the healing process.

  • While the word peel might sound like it could be a painful experience, rest assured that the peels I offer are not. You may feel tingling, mild stinging, or itching during the treatment, depending on the depth of the peel, but these sensations are completely normal and subside as the peel neutralizes. Some peels are so gentle that you may barely feel anything at all.

My goal is to keep you comfortable throughout the process, and I’ll always check in to ensure your skin is responding well.

  • Chemical peels use a combination of exfoliating acids to dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to shed more efficiently. This process accelerates cell turnover, revealing smoother, brighter, and healthier-looking skin while also stimulating collagen production for long-term benefits.

Each peel works at different depths—some only affect the surface layer, while others penetrate deeper to target hyperpigmentation, acne scars, fine lines, and uneven texture. The specific ingredients in a peel determine how it interacts with the skin:

    • Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) (like glycolic or lactic acid) focus on brightening, hydration, and fine lines, making them great for dry or aging skin.

    • Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) (like salicylic acid) are oil-soluble and penetrate deeper into pores to reduce acne, congestion, and blackheads.

    • Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) works at deeper levels to improve pigmentation, wrinkles, and scarring, depending on the strength used.

    • Enzyme peels (from fruit enzymes like papaya or pumpkin) are gentler and offer light exfoliation with minimal to no downtime.

Not all peels result in visible peeling—some work beneath the surface, strengthening the skin and improving texture without excessive shedding. The right peel for you will depend on your skin type, concerns, and goals, which is why a consultation is always recommended to customize the treatment to your needs.

  • Results depend on the type of peel and your specific skin concerns. Many clients notice an immediate glow, smoother texture, and improved hydration after just one treatment. Over time, with a series of treatments, chemical peels can help fade pigmentation and sun spots, improve fine lines and wrinkles, reduce breakouts, and enhance overall skin clarity.

  • The number of treatments depends on your skin goals. Some people see great results after just one peel, but for concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, or fine lines, a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is often recommended for optimal results. During a consultation, we’ll assess your skin and create a treatment plan that best fits your needs.
